MANILA - Ten of the dead were instantly killed in the crash in Tanay, Rizal province, according to Berlito Bati Jr of the provincial government's Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The other four succumbed to their injuries either in hospital or while being rushed there, Mr Bati said.

"They suffered fractures, lacerations because of the accident, and head injuries," he added, citing that those with critical injuries were immediately brought to Amang Rodriguez Medical Center.

The local official said the students, from Bestlink College of the Philippines in Metro Manila, were on their way to an adventure camp in the province.IANS
