Manila May 5 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck the Philippines Luzon island on Saturday without any reports of casualties damage or a tsunami alert.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake s hypocenter was at a depth of 17 km reports Efe news.
The tremor s epicentre was situated 58 km northwest of Pandan on Catanduanes island and 319 km east of Manila.
The Philippine seismological agency said there was a possibility of aftershocks.
The Tsunami Warning System in the Pacific has not issued a tsunami alert.
