Chennai Feb 18 (IANS) The Central government should not succumb to Karnataka s opposition against the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) said PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss.
In a statement issued here the former Union Minister said the Central government should abide by the Supreme Court s order to set up the CMB within six weeks.
The board will manage the release of Cauvery river water stored in the dams in Karnataka as per the apex court s recent order.
Referring to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah s opposition to the CMB the PMK leader said that there is no justification for his opposition as he had welcomed the apex court s order that gave higher share of water to his state.
