Mysuru (Karnataka) Sep 29 (IANS) Thousands of tourists and local residents thronged the Bannimantap Grounds here on Friday to witness Dasara Air Show organised by the state government as a special attraction during the festival celebrations.
The crowds cheered in excitement as Indian Air Force MI-17 choppers and Advanced Light Helicopters flew above the venue.
The IAF s Akash Ganga skydiving team also performed spectacular mid-air acrobatics petal showering and other feats during the half-hour show that was organised after a gap of nearly five years.
"We are very glad that (Defence Minister) Nirmala Sitharaman has given us permission for the air show. We hope to hold the next year s air show in a much bigger way " Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told reporters at the venue.
