Delhi achieves surplus rainfall following two days of showers (Lead)
"Monsoon has been good till now in Delhi and is going positive. There will be good showers in the upcoming week as well. However there is still two months left for the monsoon to get over " said an IMD official.
However private weather forecasting agency Skymet s Director Mahesh Palawat said: "There was deficit of rainfall till the month of June however July has received decent rainfall. However from August the monsoon will get weak and there can be a deficit of 5-6 per cent rainfall."
The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 28.3 degrees Celsius six notches below the season s average while the minimum remained 25.2 degrees two notches below season s average.
According to Skymet Safdarjung recorded 45.8 mm of rains Ayanagar 41.9 mm Narela 54 mm Palam 37.4 mm and Ridge 46.2 mm.
On Thursday the maximum temperature settled at 28.7 degrees Celsius six notches below season s average while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius a notch below the season s average following heavy rains.
