New Delhi Sep 6 (IANS) At least 1 591 people died in road accidents in Delhi last year the highest among million-plus population cities in the country an official report said on Wednesday.
Delhi also came a close second to Chennai in the number of road accidents with 7 375 accidents recorded in 2016 in the national capital the Road Accidents in India - 2016 report released by Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said.
Chennai reported 7 486 road accidents the highest among all cities with million-plus population.
The report contains information on various facets of road accidents in states Union territories and high-population cities and in the country as a whole for the calendar year 2016.
