New Delhi July 9 (IANS) The peak power demand of Delhi broke previous records to hit an all-time high of 6 998 MW on Monday the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) reported.
The peak power demand in Delhi reached a new record at 3.22 p.m. on Monday which was "sudden and unexpected though not entirely unpredicted or unprepared for" the SLDC said.
Last time the highest point of 6 934 MW was made on June 8. On June 1 the peak power demand of Delhi reached 6 651 MW.
Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain had said in March that the national capital was expected to witness its highest ever peak power demand of 7 000 MW this year.
