Such one incident took place on the eve of Independence Day when a minor girl got raped in the most planned city of the country Chandighar and this incident shook Divyanka to bone chill and led her to raise her question and an open request on the subject of "women and girl child security". Naming the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the actress expresses her fear of having a daughter in future.
The actress took her twitter for posting question in series of tweets as she quoted; “Kya Beti Bachao? Ab beti ko bachao. Bete ki chahat nahin hai, par ab darti hoon beti paida karne se. Kya Kahungi, kyu usey swarg se nark ki dehshat mein dhakela. (What do we do with the beti bachao campaign?! Just save the girl. I don’t want to have a son, but now I fear of having a daughter.
