Chennai Nov 7 (IANS) The DMK will organise protests as part of the Opposition s "Black Day" campaign on Wednesday against the Centre s demonetisation decision notwithstanding speculation that the BJP was cosying up to the regional party after Prime Minister Narendra Modi s call on the ailing DMK President M. Karunanidhi.
M.K. Stalin DMK s Working President left for Madurai to participate in a protest there while his sister Kanimozhi a Rajya Sabha member will be present in Coimbatore.
The party called off the protests only in rain-affected Chennai and other coastal districts but decided to go ahead with it in other districts.
The DMK in a statement urged traders workers and others affected by demonetisation to wear black badges on Wednesday.
Modi s meeting with Karunanidhi on Monday had sparked speculation that the two parties may be on a path of reconciliation with reports even saying the party had called off the anti-demonetisation protests.
