Imphal Nov 17 (IANS) Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Friday urged a grouping of outlawed groups not to boycott President Ram Nath Kovind s maiden visit to Manipur and other states in the northeast from November 19.
The Coordinating Committee (Corcom) an apex body of six outlawed organisations in Manipur has called for a 26-hour general strike to protest against the President s visit.
"People have no reason to rejoice the visit " a Corcom statement said.
Kovind will visit Arunachal Pradesh Assam and Manipur from November 19 to 22.
