Rio de Janeiro March 11 (IANS) Germany will host Brazil in an international football friendly next March the first meeting between the teams since their historic semi-final clash at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The match will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on March 27 2018 less than three months before the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia the Brazilian Football Confederation said in a statement on Friday reports Xinhua news agency.
To play against a high-level team like Germany will be an important test for our players and coaching staff Brazil team coordinator Edu Gaspar said.
This is even more so because it will be played away from home and in a year that is very important for our national team.
Germany crushed host Brazil 7-1 in the 2014 World Cup semis in Belo Horizonte. Joachim Low s team went on to win the tournament by defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final.
