New Delhi Oct 25 (IANS) The interest rate on General Provident Fund (GPF) and other related schemes for the October-December quarter has been retained at 7.8 per cent the government announced on Wednesday.
"The government has announced that during the Financial Year 2017-18 accumulations at the credit of subscribers to the General Provident Fund (GPF) and other similar funds shall carry interest at the rate of 7.8 per cent with effect from October 1 to December 31 2017 " a Union Finance Ministry statement here said.
For the previous July-September quarter too the interest rate on such schemes was at 7.8 per cent.
In September the government had also retained the interest rate for October-December on the Public Provident Fund scheme unchanged at 7.8 per cent in line with the rates for small savings schemes.
