In an unbelievable event, Sagan who was announced as Tour de France 3rd stage winner is now declared disqualified.


Sagan was is disqualified for the reason as he threw his elbow over the Mark Cavendish which led him quit the race on medical grounds, though Sagan’s team has appealed against the decision. 

Cavendish was disappointed with his injury as he stated: “I feel I was in good position to win and to lose that and even having to leave the Tour, the race I’ve built my whole career around, is really sad.”

All happened when Cavendish approved for the stage victory and  Sagan, battling for space towards his right-hand side of the road moved to his right and what appeared is Sagan flick out an elbow as Cavendish was forced onto the barriers leading him serious injuries.

Sagan was given a 30-second setback start, however, the race jury studied the crash again before declaring him disqualifying him. Now the new winner who replaced Sagan for the stage 3 is Arnaud Demare from, France -Window To News
