Kabul July 18 (IANS) Militants loyal to the Islamic State captured and beheaded a senior commander of the rival Taliban on Wednesday amid fierce fighting between the two groups in Afghanistan s Jawzjan province a government spokesman said.
The two groups have been locked in a battle over the past one week in Darzab district. On Wednesday the Islamic State militants killed Taliban s Mullah Burjan Xinhua news agency reported.
