Israel become Jewish ‘nation state’, Arabic no more official language

19 Jul 2018

July 19 (WTN) Israeli parliament has given the status of law to the controversial 'Jewish Nation Bill' on Thursday. According to this, Israel is now a Jewish nation. Arabic has also been stripped of the official language status of the country. It has also been said that undivided Jerusalem will be the capital of Israel. The bill passed in Parliament has been described as a decision taken in the country. Muslim MPs protest against new bill. Israel has a population of 90 million, in which 20% (18 million) Muslims
The Israeli Arab MPs have opposed the new bill passed, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described it as a historic opportunity. According to this, "Israel is historically a place of Jewish people, only they should get the right of nationality here." In Parliament, the bills took eight hours to pass. 62 in favor and 55 MPs in the opposition voted.

18 million Arab (Muslims) live in Israel's 90 million populations. According to Israel's law, Arabic people have been given the same rights as Jews, but they have long been complaining of behaviors and discrimination as citizens of double standards. Arab MP Ahmad Tibi says, "The passing of bill shows that democracy has been killed in the country." Adlah, a non-governmental organization fighting for Arab rights, said, "The new law is through a policy of a breed Last week, Netanyahu had said that we will maintain the rights of citizens in Israel's democracy but the majority have the right and the decision is also the majority.

It is remarkable that In December, US president Donald Trump had declared Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, ignoring international protests. He also told the US embassy to take Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Trump had said, "America has always been in favor of peace in the world and will continue to be there. We will not have any role in the border dispute." In 1948, American President Harry Truman was the first leader in the world, who recognized Israel.

Israel calls the entire city of Jerusalem as a capital while the Palestinians call East Jerusalem their capital. This area was captured by Israel in 1967. These areas have sacred sites of all three religions Jews, Muslims and Christians. Jews believes Temple Mount their holiest place while Muslims considers Al-Aqsa mosque pious religious place.
