On the other hand, the JFA invites all media persons of Assam to attend a me morial meeting to pay tributes to senior journalist Mohan Kakati, who expired on 26 March after suffering from illness for sometimes. The meeting is scheduled for 3 pm on Tuesday (3 April) at Guwahati Press Club.
Hailed from Roha in Nagaon district, Kakati (63) used to work for Dainik Janambhumi, Dainik Asom, Ajir batori, Asomiya Pratidin, Aji, Asomiya Khabar, Niyamia Barta etc and left behind a host of relatives and well-wishers.
“Understanding the life of a scribe is precious to the society and nation, we urge all media persons to maintain a sound health pursuing preventive healthcare initiatives along with their families. Moreover we appeal to the governments to support the bereaved families at this time of crisis,” said a statement issued by JFA president Rupam Barua and secretary Nava Thakuria.-Window To News
