JGU launches master's programme in climate change

New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) on Wednesday said that it has launched a Masters programme in Environmental Law, Energy and Climate Change jointly with WWF-India.
The LL.M programme will commence from August 1, as per a statement issued by the institute. It will be taught by professors from JGU and experts from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
The curriculum includes courses on international environmental law and policy, national environmental law and policy; technical courses like energy laws and adaptation to climate change, along with other core courses which are mandated by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
"The programme is one of its kind in India and is developed with a vision to integrate national and international perspectives on environmental law, energy and climate change," read the statement.
"It emphasises on an international, transnational and comparative approache to research and studying case laws. The course will help young lawyers and legal professionals specialise in environmental law, energy and climate change to contribute towards a progressive and sustainable future," it added.
