J'ouvert Carnival an exclamation of Caribbean Culture and Pride!
The J'ouvert Carnival an exclamation of Caribbean culture and pride kicked off with the change in ritual amid the concerns of violence happened in past. This year the carnival started by 6 am instead of early morning 4 am. The vast West Indian American Day Parade began with passing through the security checkpoints setup to screen for weapons and alcohol. Thousands of people dressed in costumes and carrying the flags of their origination formed an eye relishing scenery. Though the carnival ended with complaints, that the changes were too restrictive and they felt more like punishment than protection. –Window To News
