Beirut, Nov 23 (IANS) Lebanon celebrated on Monday the country's 78th Independence Day with a military parade, Lebanon's Presidency said in a statement.Held at the Defense Ministry in Yarzeh, southeast of the capital Beirut, the parade began with a 21-gun salute, followed by President Michel Aoun laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Xinhua news agency reported.Helicopters and Tucano aircraft from the Lebanese Air Force flew over the venue, carrying a Lebanese flag.It was followed by a military parade with the internal security forces, the general security forces, the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon, the Lebanese Army Military Academy, the Lebanese navy and others.President Aoun gave a speech a day earlier to mark the occasion, vowing to put Lebanon on the track of reforms to save the country from its crisis.
