June 22 (WTN)- Argentina's Lionel Messi is an icon in football. He carries the hopes of 44 million people of Argentina.  In first match against Messi missed a penalty and the match was draw at 1-1. In second match against Croatia, Messi did not score and Crotia crushed Argentina 3-0. Third in Group D with one point after two games, Argentina are now struggling to go into the second round and an exit at this stage would be humiliating for a team of their stature.

Messi at 30 years is possibly playing in his last World Cup. He was the key player in last edition of FIFA World Cup in 2014, making Argentina reach finals of tournament eventually going down 0-1 against Germany.

Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli says Lionel Messi has struggled to perform at the 2018 World Cup because his team mates are not good enough.

If Argentina exists 2018 FIFA World Cup, it would be an end to era of Messi who has given so much brilliant football moments to the world.
