Man supplying firearms held
Mohammad Arshad, 38, was taken into custody on Sunday evening after he came to Seelampur in east Delhi to deliver a cache of semi-automatic weapons to his contacts.
"He has been supplying sophisticated firearms in the NCR (National Capital Region) to criminals and gangsters," Deputy Commissioner of Police P.S Kushwah said.
Twenty-one semi-automatic "Made in England" pistols were seized from him.
Arshad, a resident of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, told the police that the weapons were to be sent for use in Uttar Pradesh where staggered elections began on February 11.
