Manipur has the first floating School in India…

14 Feb 2017

Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the country, is now the one and only place where you could find a floating school. Loktak Floating Elementary School is around 50 km from Imphal. The motive of this school is not only to educate children but illiterate adults as well. It is large enough to accommodate around 25 students and two teachers. The services given by the teachers will be a basic social service but Peoples Research Development Association (PRDA) would be sanctioning a compensation towards their services under the project called ‘Empowering vulnerable local communities for sustainable development’, which is funded by Action Aid India.- WTN
