Mumbai May 31 (IANS) The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Wednesday opened on a higher note during the morning session of the trade.
However the markets soon entered the negative zone.
The Sensex of the BSE after opening at 31 222.51 points touched a high of 31 233.68 points and a low of 31 119.50 points.
On Tuesday the Sensex closed at 31 159.40 points.
The Sensex is trading at 31 121.74 points down by 29 58 points or 0.09 per cent.
On the other hand the broader 51-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 9 636.55 points after closing at 9 624.55 points.
The Nifty is trading at 9 623.40 points in the morning.
