Madrid Sep 25 (IANS) Spanish tennis player Garbiñe Muguruza for the third straight week headed the Women s Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings released on Monday.
The Spanish star topped the rankings despite having been eliminated from the Tokyo Open semi-finals after her defeat against Danish Caroline Wozniacki who claimed the title on Sunday reports Efe.
This week s standings witnessed no changes as Romanian Simona Halep came in second followed by Ukrainian Elina Svitolina.
Czech Karolina Pliskova held the fourth position ahead of fifth-placed American Venus Williams.
