Kolkata Sep 11 (IANS) A few Muslim welfare organisations organised a rally here on Monday to demanding an end to the atrocities against the Rohingyas in Myanmar.
The agitation brought the eastern metropolis to a standstill for approximately three hours.
"Thousands of Rohingya Muslims including children have been killed by police in Mynamar. We are saddened by the incidents. The Myanmmar goverment must take responsibility " said Furfura Sharif Peerzada Toha Siddiqui.
West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president Adhir Chowdhury and CPI-M leader Sujan Chakraborty also participated in the rally.
