Mumbai July 18 (IANS) Indian women s cricket team captain Mithali Raj who wanted to be a dancer says it was her fathers decision to put her into the cricket.
Raj shared interesting facts from her life on the "Breakfast with Champions" show hosted by Gaurav Kapur a statement said.
"It was my dad s decision to put me into cricket and of course my mother did not wanted me to be a cricketer. She wanted me to be a dancer. I started dance much before I got into cricket and it was something of my own choice. I wanted to be a dancer " Raj said on the show.
The cricketer said she enjoyed dancing.
"I enrolled myself and then cricket happened because of various reasons. My parents had to face a lot of challenges. Coming from a south Indian family cricket was nowhere and no one played sport in my family and for my grandparents to expect that their granddaughter plays cricket with boys was difficult " she said.
