Lucknow Jan 23 (IANS) A train accident was averted on Tuesday when the New Delhi-Puri Neelanchal Express brushed past a loaded truck parked close to the tracks in Uttar Pradesh s Pratapgarh district officials said. No one was injured.
According to a Northern Railway official the truck loaded with sand was parked close to the tracks when the footboards of a few coaches scraped it around 8.40 p.m. in Pratapgarh district.
He said the footboards of these coaches and truck s side were damaged. Police has since seized the truck.
The official said the train resumed its onward journey around 9.05 p.m. after an inspection by a Railway team.
