New Delhi Nov 10 (IANS) Clearing the decks for the introduction of electric vehicles in the national capital NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar on Friday released a proposal to develop electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Delhi.
The "quick pilot" project includes 55 locations with 135 charging stations. Of these 46 are DC quick charging stations and 89 are slower AC charging stations.
The plan includes a deployment timeline with first installations in November itself a statement from the planning body said.
The proposal could be used to provide a structure for electric vehicle infrastructure rollout in the Gurgaon-Indira Gandhi International Airport-South Delhi-Noida corridor it added.
According to the NITI Aayog the deployment of the infrastructure would require co-operation with state governments government authorities and companies as well as some private enterprises like DLF Mall and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).
"The plan is implementable it includes a large number of stations. Further expansion of this in Delhi-NCR and other cities in India is something to be considered based on the experience from this quick pilot " the NITI Aayog said.
