Noida, May 16 (IANS) One more person died of coronavirus in Gautam Budh Nagar, taking the total death toll in the district to 5, health officials said on Saturday.

Nodal officer Saurabh said, "A 65-year-old Covid-19 male patient died of Covid-19 on Friday night. He was a resident of Noida only. He was already suffering from pneumonia. His test results showed he was Covid-19 positive."

He died at Greater Noida-based Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) at 10.30 p.m. on Friday night. He was admitted to the hospital on May 12.

According to the health department, the number of infected persons in Gautam Budh Nagar has risen to 242 out of which 4 had died earlier. With the death of one more person, the death toll due to coronavirus in the district has risen to 5 so far.

The health officials said 169 patients have recovered and discharged from the hospitals while 69 are still undergoing treatment.
