18 Jan 2017
New Delhi: The Centre on Wednesday said over Rs 60 crore worth of prize money has been distributed to over four lakh winners of NITI Aayog's "Lucky Draw Schemes" for consumers and merchants to promote digital transactions.

The prizes were distributed under the "Lucky Grahak Yojana" and "Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana" -- the twin schemes launched to incentivise both consumers and merchants to promote digital transactions.

"Till now a total of Rs 60.90 crore has been distributed as prize money under the two schemes," said Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad.

He said that under the Lucky Grahak Yojana 3,81,687 consumers were awarded, while over 21,000 shopkeepers won prizes under the Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana.

The Lucky Grahak Yojana has winners on a daily and weekly basis, and under the Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana, winners are selected on a weekly basis.-Agency
