Padmaavat will release in all state, supreme court lifted the ban issued by states

18 Jan 2018

The Supreme court has lifted a ban on controversial movie Padmaavat imposed by some states. Apex court ruled that the ban on this film by states violated article 19 of the constitution as CBFC gave the clearance.

A 3 judge bench heded by Chief Justice Dipak Misra overturned the ban after an appeal filed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and other producers of the film.

States like Haryana, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh
and Rajasthan banned the film by saying that film hurt the emotion and sentiments of Rajput community as well as people having belief in sacrifice in Rani Padmavati.

Film Padmaavat will be releasing on 25 January.
