Moscow May 22 (IANS) Financial authorities in Russia on Tuesday presented a special edition of the 100-ruble bill that was created for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Russian Central Bank first deputy governor Olga Skorobogatova and Joint Stock Company Goznak s general director Arkady Trachuk unveiled the new bill which is worth around $1.63 at a press conference here reported Efe.
One side of the blue and green note shows a child clutching a football as he stares up at Russia s legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin mid-action.
The other side includes an image of the Earth transformed into a football.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to start on June 14 with a match between Egypt and Uruguay.
