Saudi-led airstrikes hit Sanaa just after UN envoy leaves city
The strike targeted an area of the Yemeni capital Sanaa which was overrun by Houthi rebels in 2015 after they ousted the Saudi and internationally-backed President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi who fled to the coastal city of Aden having also spent time in Saudi Arabia Efe news agency reported.
The bombing early Wednesday occurred just a few hours after the United Nations envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths had left the city following a round of talks.
Yemen s civil war between Houthis and government soldiers has ground on for the best part of four years displacing millions and plunging hundreds of thousands of children into abject poverty and disease.
