New Delhi Dec 4 (IANS) Condoling the death of veteran actor-producer Shashi Kapoor Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday called him a "brilliant actor" and said "he has left a void difficult to fill in the world of cinema".
"A brilliant actor he successfully contributed in paving the way for alternative pathbreaking cinema Nationally and Internationally " said Gandhi.
"He will be fondly remembered by all and has left a void difficult to fill in the world of cinema " she added.
Conveying her sympathies to his family and fans for this irreparable loss Gandhi prayed for the departed soul.
Veteran actor-producer Shashi Kapoor the romantic screen icon of the 70s and early 80s died on Monday at a hospital here. He was 79.
