New Delhi May 5 (IANS) Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday greeted the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for launching the South Asia Satellite and said a new era of regional cooperation has begun.

An Indian rocket with the over two tonne South Asia Satellite or GSAT-9 intended to address the region s economic and developmental priorities blasted off from the Sriharikota spaceport on Friday.
The satellite is expected to help in better communication weather forecasting telemedicine and response to disaster management.
