Bangkok Nov 30 (IANS) Syrian footballer Omar Kharbin was named the AFC men s Player of the Year 2017 while Japanese Takafumi Hori won the men s Coach of the Year title here.
The Syria forward has made 36 appearances for his national team scoring 16 goals since 2016. He plays for the Al-Hilal in Saudi Professional League.
The 23-year-old also became the first Syrian ever to win the Asian Footballer of the Year on Wednesday.

Among the other awards Korean Son Heung-min was named International Player of the Year Lee Seungwoo the men s Youth Player of the Year and Samantha Kerr given the Women s Player of the Year title.
