New Delhi Jan 29 (IANS) A teenager was gunned down by five youths after a quarrel over betting in south Delhi police said on Monday adding that the prime accused has been arrested.
Sahil 16 was taking a walk in a DDA Park at Tigri after dinner on Sunday night when he was shot twice by the accused who also beat him up.
"We received a call regarding firing at JJ Camp in Tigri. Sahil sustained two bullet injuries and was admitted in an unconscious state in Batra Hospital " Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.
On January 26 Sahil had had a quarrel with neighbour Sajid over betting at his house following which police registered cross-FIRs against both sides.
"While Sahil was strolling in the park Sajid along with accomplices Shaukat Ali Sabir Sonu and Saleem beat him up before shooting him with a countrymade pistol " the officer added.
Accused Sajid was arrested from his hideout in south Delhi on Monday while a hunt for the other accused is on.
