The last Supper was celebrated in Bhopal

14 Apr 2017
The Christians all over celebrated the establishment of the Eucharist, Priesthood and blessing the oil along with washing the feet of the disciples in commemoration of Jesus Christ who performed it 2000 years ago.  Jesus before his death asked his disciples to break the bread and serve one another as his body at the last supper. Since, then whenever the Christians gathered together, they celebrate the Eucharist so called holy mass as a family without caste, creed and religion.
Archbishop Leo Cornelio said that Lord Jesus, in spite of the Son of God he bend down and washed the feet of His disciples and asked them to do the same with one another. Therefore Christianity exists because of service to the humanity. For this cause, Christians are ready to face any persecution that comes across in the path of spreading love, service and peace in the society.
Just before this Maundy Thursday, all the priests of the diocese came together along with Archbishop at Assumption church, Asha Niketan to bless the three oil of the sacraments, called oil of sick, oil of Catechumens, oil of Chrism, which to be used throughout the year to administer the seven sacraments of the church.
Fr. Maria Stephen, the PRO said that Christians are called to serve the poor, the needy and the suffering as Jesus Christ has done to His people. He is a good example for all of us.

Jesus established the Eucharist and the Priesthood. Therefore, the priesthood and the Eucharist are the sources spiritual nourishment for the Christians he added. After the Holy Mass there will be long hours of adoration to the blessed sacraments to commemorate Good Friday (Jesus’ death) today. This year too, Christians of different denominations will be coming together to celebrate “Easter Mahotsav” on 16 April 2017 at BSSS College Campus, Habibganj, Bhopal, from 7 pm onwards.
