New Delhi May 11 (IANS) Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday announced signing of a Letter of Intent for the country s first railway university.
The Union Human Resource Development Minister said he would "fast-track" the setting up of a defense university as well.
"University Grants Commission (UGC) today granted Letter of Intent for first Railway University. Will fast-track defence University also " Javadekar said in a tweet.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had spoken of setting up India s first railway university in Vadodara Gujarat in addition to "two new full-fledged schools of planning and architecture" while presenting the Union Budget earlier this year.
