New York Nov 3 (IANS) The US stocks closed mixed after President Donald Trump announced the nomination of Federal Reserve Governor Jerome Powell as the new head of the country s central bank.
The Dow rose 0.35 percent the S&P 500 increased 0.02 percent while the Nasdaq edged down 0.02 percent on Thursday Xinhua news agency reported.
Powell a lawyer and former US Treasury official will be the first Fed chair in three decades without a Ph.D. in economics.
