Kolkata April 22 (IANS) A woman was killed by her husband and in-laws over a dowry dispute in West Bengal s Howrah district police said on Saturday.
Purnasree Samanta (22) was murdered in Shyampur area on Friday evening a police official said.
The husband and the in-laws were arrested on Saturday morning on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim s family he said.
According to her parents Samanta who was married for almost four years was often tortured at her in-laws house over money.
They have killed my daughter. She was often heckled and tortured as we could not pay the amount of dowry they demanded the victim s father said.
Police said no external marks of injury or assault were found on the woman s body.
An autopsy will identify the real cause of death the official added.
