Sukma/Jagdalpur Aug 15 (IANS) Three members of a Special Task Force were injured one of them seriously on Tuesday when Maoists triggered a landmine blast in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh official sources said.
The security personnel were returning after a night patrol undertaken by STF and Reserve Police men when Maoists lying in ambush near Paria forest area triggered the blast around 3 p.m. Sukma Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena said.
Though there was an exchange of gunfire the Maoists escaped from the spot he said.
A seriously injured Kattam Rama as well as Bodi Chinna and Madkam Sanna were taken to Jagdalpur Medical College for treatment.
Rama s condition is said to be stable but has been referred to a Raipur hospital for better treatment the officer said.
