Kolkata Jan 22 (IANS) Tata Steel in association with the Indian Institute of Metals on Monday announced that the 7th Asia Steel International Conference will be held at Bhubaneswar from February 6 to 9.
This was stated at the Tata Centre here by Anand Sen President TQM and Steel Business Tata Steel. He is also Chairman of Asia Steel 2018.
The last Asia Steel conference was held in 2015 at Yokohama Japan. This major conference is held every three years and provides a platform for exchange of knowledge on various aspects of the global steel industry.
Around 70 keynote speakers half of them from countries such as China South Korea Japan the Netherlands Britain the US Germany Belgium and Canada will address the conference said a statement.
The conference will focus on different challenges faced by the steel industry optimizing specific consumption of raw materials especially coke and iron ore how to use low-grade raw materials along with decreasing the energy consumption in various iron making and steel making operations and thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
