How  Marcus put the hold on the attack?
What he did was all accidental as Marcus admits on his SM, Marcus, @MalwareTechBlog managed to put a “KillSwitch”, as of now though temporarily. He has set a worldwide stop to spread that hit the NHS- by registering a Domain name.

As reported by The Telegraph, Marcus who is on SM by the name MalwareTec was just doing his job when he put a halt to the virus spreading across.“
It's bit a job to him, more a passion that he happens to get paid for”, said the Kurtis Baron. The IT experts have revealed that the hackers from China had tried to hijack the “Kill Switch”, used to prevent the attack. -Window To News
