New Delhi Feb 12 (IANS) Delhi s ruling Aam Aadmi Party on Monday staged protest outside the residence of North Delhi Mayor Preeti Aggarwal who is facing allegations of large-scale corruption and undergoing a vigilance inquiry.
Aggarwal of the Bharatiya Janata Party has been accused of charging a 10 per cent cut in clearing tenders worth crores.
On December 28 last year Lt Governor Anil Baijal s office had received a complaint from a Supreme Court lawyer against Aggarwal which was forwarded to the Chief Vigilance Officer asking for examination of the letter s contents.
"BJP s silence on the issue proves that other party leaders were also involved in this scam " AAP leader Dilip Pandey said in a statement.
"They could not find any fault in AAP ministers files that were forcibly brought to the Lt Governor s office. Despite that BJP leaders have been benefited by the scam there have been no proper inquiry in the case " he said.
"There has been pretence in the name of probe.
"Either the Mayor should resign or the BJP should remove her " he added.
