New Delhi April 2 (IANS) Delhi s ruling Aam Aadmi Party on Monday expressed support for the protests by Dalit activists from various organisations against a Supreme Court ruling on the SC/ST Act.
"AAP supports the SC/ST community in the situation arising after the Supreme Court s order on the SC/ST Atrocity Prevention Act. The central government should appoint the prestigious senior lawyers in petition against the court ruling and the act should be preserved " Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
AAP senior leader Ashutosh demanded an ordinance to "fix" the apex court s decision.
"Modi Ji should soon bring an ordinance to fix the Supreme Court s decision that weakens the SC/ST act. You cannot stay silent about the injustice against Dalits " he said.
