For doing so, so called “ Anti Romeo Squad” is established to work under pen downed guidelines, however, the projection seems to be derailed as the way it implemented.
The methodology pen down to follow was:
*Each team to consist of two police persons, majorly one female and one male police.
* Number of teams deployed depends upon the number of school and colleges in the preview of a jurisdiction of the police station.
* they will move around the areas where there are a large number of women.
* There task is to identify the eve teasers and troublemakers in the crowd.
* They will move around in uniform and in some cases in plain clothes
* Teams would comprise constables, head constables, ASI and SI
* Anti Romeo Squads can let off miscreants with a warning, can inform parents and even initiate criminal action depending on the seriousness of the case.
The most populous state of India formed this squad to fight out harassment against women, however, seem random the way operation conducted, it's nowhere matched the declared guidelines.
