Are politicians now turning out to be movie censor board? If yes, Padmawati needs to rescue!!
Usually, it is the movie cast, and crew jumping into the hot topic which acts as a publicity stunt, to make the brand more popular and hit. However this time it is the other side of the screen letting to mint TRPs.
Publicity is always welcoming, no matter its positive or negative. Padmawati is soaring high over the SM amid controversies. It has got all the attention from the day project took off.The controversy clouds are deep darkening around Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati.
Many politicians, organisations and regional groups have been trying to halt the release of the film over distortion of history though by now; no one knows what the script of the movie is. Sanjay Leela has ended up clarifying his lasted tweet where he trie to clear the skies of doubts, but nothing is working out.
In support lately the lead actress Deepika Padukone state to a leading daily,"It's appalling, what we have gotten ourselves into? Where have we reached as a Nation? We have regressed". She further stated, "The only people we are answerable to is, the censor board and I know, and I believe that nothing can stop the release of this film," and the statement of Deepika seems now has turned up for BJP a "point to prove"- subject.
The BJP leader Subramanian Swamy lashed out on Twitter as he stated: " Deepika Padukone giving us the lecture on regression! A nation can progress only when it is the regression from her perspective."
Further shocking is that the leader further retweeted a tweet from a follower 'Harsha Agrawal', who tweeted, "As a woman, I shouldn't allow a film that degrades the Queen #Padmavati honour even an atom size. If it has shown anything contrary to history, it should not only be banned, but cases should be filed against the cast & producer-director."

It is sad that the filmmaker needs to explain his fictional story even as the so called legislators get to threaten violence without any rationale.
