Chennai : Private sector Axis Bank Ltd on Thursday said it closed the third quarter of the current fiscal with a net profit of Rs 579.57 crore.

In a regulatory filing with BSE, the bank said it has posted a net profit of Rs 579.57 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016, as compared to Rs 2,175.30 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015.

Axis Bank's total income went up from Rs 12,531.11 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015, to Rs 14,501.21 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016.-Agency
