New Delhi Oct 15 (IANS) Real estate sector should be brought under the ambit of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday.
In a letter to Jaitley Sisodia who holds the Finance portfolio said that the matter should be part of the agenda for the next GST council meeting scheduled for November 9.
Referring to Jaitley s comments made during a lecture at Harvard on bringing real estate sector under GST he said: "Though my views were not accepted by the GST council earlier I am happy that there appears to be a rethink which is a positive indication for the sake of the country."
Sisodia also contended that the move would also reduce the black money involved with the real estate sector.
